Chauhan trained on a mud floor until she was 15 and now has a sponsor for her travel.

Chauhan won by a 4-2 scoreline after taking down the defending champion with a throw in the final five seconds. Her father, a tea-stall owner, watched on a borrowed phone.

The akhara where she trains has no roof. The district sports officer has promised a shed before winter.

This is a demo story: every name, place, organisation and figure in it is fictional.
